Details - Some (all?) java swing applications (JetBrains IDEA, visualvm, ...) start with
false "accept input or input focus" wm hint. Awesome honors this hint and does
not put such clients into focus history. So the only way to raise app is to click on
taskbar header.
I suggest to do client flag which will override hint.
Implementation in the patch.
Following rule overrides hint for java swing applications:
