The following task has a new comment added:

FS#430 - Java (Swing) dialogs don't go away properly
User who did this - Uli Schlachter (psychon)

Java is breaking ICCCM here. A client which wants its windows to be unmanaged
has to unmap that window and sent a synthetic unmap notify to the root window.
According to xtrace, the test app doesn't do that (XWithdrawWindow() is the
Xlib function for this).

Could somebody write me a java test app that hides its window automatically 10
secs after it was made visible? I'd like someone to test if the following works
with other WMs than awesome:
- Start the test app
- Switch to another workspace, the java test window is no longer visible
- Wait until the window should be hidden
- Go back to the original workspace
