Details - urxvt, when started with the argument -depth 32, for real
transparency, will ignore border colors.
apparently, "-depth 32 adds an alpha value to all colors but also adds an alpha
channel to the border color. awesome doesnt know that and thus the border ends up being
transparent" (quoting psychon from #awesome @ OFTC)
the problem seems to be known so i'm posting this here for the sake of
completeness.
