The best place for such suggestions and their patches would be the developers

Regarding your question with the display style of minimized windows, my opinion
would be that a different background color for minimized windows would be one
of the most suitable ideas, as for example if you have a small screen and / or
many open clients, you end up with a pretty cramped task bar which could be
hard to read if you use an italic font to display the clients name.
