Hi, after the upgrade to 3.4 my tags (which I use as simple virtual desktops) do not have my preferred layout set and I am unable to switch layouts.
The relevant portions of my rc.lua (the complete file is at http://well-adjusted.de/~jrschulz/cfg/awesomerc.lua): layouts = { awful.layout.suit.max, awful.layout.suit.max.fullscreen, awful.layout.suit.fair, awful.layout.suit.magnifier, awful.layout.suit.tile.bottom, awful.layout.suit.tile.left } tags = {} for s = 1, screen.count() do tags[s] = awful.tag({ 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 }, s) -- awful.tag.setproperty(tags[s], "layout", layouts[1]) end globalkeys = awful.util.table.join( awful.key({ modkey, }, "space", function () awful.layout.inc(layouts, 1) end), awful.key({ modkey, "Shift" }, "space", function () awful.layout.inc(layouts, -1) end), -- ... ) root.keys(globalkeys) After starting awesome, I only have floating windows and pressing mod+Space doesnt change the layout.
