What's the latest version that works?
On Arch Linux the upgrade was 4.5.3 -> 4.6.1. After that all QT
applications are unusable. More information and awesome users in this

Thanks for the suggestion, I downgraded to Qt 4.5.3 (latest version in Gentoo
before 4.6.0) and this fixed the problem.
I'll try Gregor's suggestion when I next attempt a Qt upgrade - thanks for
that too.
