Found two bug reports related to this problem:

<http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=573302>
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/awesome/+bug/535580

<https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/awesome/+bug/535580>I am willing
to submit a patch for this, but not sure what is the correct
project/repository to look at.
awesome source tree does not contains a /debian directory.

where is the debian source package maintained? is there a link to clone?

thanks,
Daniel
