Not sure. Try a custom theme. Change: theme.border_width = "1" theme.border_normal = "#000000" theme.border_focus = "#535d6c" theme.border_marked = "#91231c" to theme.border_width = "1" theme.border_normal = "#00000000" theme.border_focus = "#535d6c00" theme.border_marked = "#91231c00" The last 00 meaning 0 opacity. I'm not sure if this works, but it's something to try. You may need xcompmgr running to make it work.
