Hello, I had similar problems with xterm, gave up and moved to urxvt, it has the issue you described but it's fine for me until i find a better solution. AFAIR, eterm is the one that worked fine when i did some tests, i just didn't move to it because i'm using url-select plugin for urxvt and it is really useful for me. I'm still looking for a better terminal that have a similar feature. Try eterm and let us know if it is an option for you.
