Hi all, Just a random discussion/question for possible future use. I'm playing around with VNC servers on a combination of windows machines and my own laptop (running awesome). I've been checking out performance when accessing them from my android smartphone, and on wifi its actually pretty good.
For awesome, though, since so many things are keyboard-based, its a hassle to use. Also, both android apps for VNC viewing (androidVNC and PocketCloud) that I've tried don't let you send Super-* key-strokes (only ctrl/alt/shift are allowed), meaning I can't even use all those shortcuts I've burnt into my memory by now. Anyone has experience using awesome mouse-only (since that's the most reliable method over VNC from a phone with no physical keyboard)? In particular, is it possible to have a small widget of some sort in the taglist for each window (just for closing the window, as it seems a pity to have to enable title-bars just to do this)? -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [email protected].
