The git HEAD of obvious matches the git HEAD of awesome. With (almost) every release of awesome, I create a matching tag in the obvious repository, so it's easy to see which version of obvious works with which version of awesome. In your case, doing
git reset --hard v3.4.10
in the obvious directory should do the trick.
Maybe I should document this stuff a little better...
