I started a "urxvt --bl" instance on Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS running
awesome from git version 75ad861c7a49dc708246db915d589b31b47e6d00.

What I see when urxvt fires up is that:

  - A borderless window is indeed created
  - It does not have focus
  - It doesn't seem to be managed by awesome in the "normal" sense of
other windows

So there's no way to give focus to that window, and it cannot receive
input from the keyboard or mouse.

Maybe that's what happens on FreeBSD too. The problem doesn't seem to
be related to the operating system itself, but in the way X11 and
awesome handle the MWM hint for borderless windows.
