That second bullet point sounds like it might be interesting to you. Also, I
only ever saw dockapps for Window Maker's doc. In other words, there is no
established standard for these.

I now have a semi-dock working via client rules handling, titlebar
removal and absolute positioning with sticky. But i have each little
app manually coded for the positions and etc.
xdock sounds cool. I'll have to convert my setup.
