Yes, debian testing here with lua 5.1.
On debian, awesome doesn't even compile against lua 5.2 because CMake only
checks for liblua.so and liblua51.so. Distros like gentoo call their lua 5.2
library liblua.so and their awesome (accidentally) works with lua 5.2.

Yeah, I can't really say much from this report besides "works for me".
