Hi, I have some iconic fonts installed in my system and I've been trying lately to use them in the statusbar with no success. Some of them use the private unicode characters [1] so I would need to be able to use unicode characters in my widgets, such as in the following example:
mywidget.text = "<span font='myfont'>\U023</span>" The problem is that what I get in the widget is exactly "U023", instead of the corresponding unicode characters. I have tried escaping the backslash with another one but then what I get is "\U023" Using naughty to display a notification with the same text does show the unicode character, by the way, so I know for sure that the font is correctly installed and working.
