Hi!

Since I use awesome the menus of GTK applications behave weird.

Menus are often vertically compressed, so that a scroll bar shows
up. Then they disappear visually, but still have focus. It's a bit
hard to describe what is going on, that's why I created a small
screencast: http://freeshell.de/~mpfusion/screencast.mkv

Sometimes the menus work, then suddenly they disappear. I cannot
100% reproduce it. But working for a few minutes with GTK
applications and the behaviour shows up for sure. All GTK menus are
affected, from evince over the file manager to the network-manager
systray applet. When I navigate with the keyboard, the menus work
fine. I was unable to trigger the behaviour with Mutter. The
behaviour is present if I run the GNOME session with awesome as WM
as well as with the plain awesome session.

Has anyone experienced similar issues or maybe has an idea what
could be the cause?

I am running GNOME 4.3.2 with awesome 3.4.13-1 as WM on Debian
unstable on an Intel Sandybridge Mobile graphic adapter.

I've had this problem for a while and haven't had the energy to find the cause. In addition to the behavior in the video, sometimes the menus show up displaced from their normal position - possibly all the way on the opposite side of the screen.

I think this only happens with GTK3, not with GTK2. I can't make it happen with Parcellite or Firefox, both of which use GTK2.
