Hello we believed we already fixed this with the current revision of the code which does close the file descriptor explicitly after reading it. There's no problems with lua51 in arch linux to suggest we haven't.
Not sure why closing it early as opposed to late would make a difference, unless the close after io.lines is never reached in some conditions. -- Adrian C.
