I'm a new awesome user and ran into a little trouble:
I use LXDM as a Display Manager under Archlinux 64bits with systemd (more
info on the system below).
Launching awesome works with session=/usr/bin/awesome in my
/etc/lxdm/lxdm.conf.
However, when leaving awesome (with the menu calling awesome.quit), lxdm is
kind off frozen.
"Kind off" because I can click my user name but that's all.
After that, I can not enter my password or click on anything else, I have
to restart lxdm from
 a tty (as root, systemctl restart lxdm) to logging again.

Please note that I'm not sure if the issue comes from awesome or LXDM,
but as lxdm used to work fine with lxde/xfce on my system, I ask here first
;-)

Here are some information that may be usefull:

awesome --version
awesome v3.5 (Last Christmas)
 • Build: Jan  2 2013 01:31:24 for x86_64 by gcc version 4.7.2 (nobody@copy)
 • Compiled against Lua 5.2.1 (running with Lua 5.2)
 • D-Bus support: ✔
