Hi, i just upgraded awesome to
awesome v3.5.1-2-g14daf85 (Ruby Tuesday) • Build: Jun 6 2013 01:37:21 for i686 by gcc version 4.7.2 • Compiled against Lua 5.1.5 (running with Lua 5.1) • D-Bus support: ✔ and have some strange effects. when a window is redrawn. for ~some moments it looks like switching display in framebuffer mode. for xterm this becomes static when the window is maximized und demaximized again. Half of the screen shows vertical yellow stripes. They disappear when I swtich the workspace or drag the window around. On the list I found a hint that sounds similar < http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg06855.html > it's leaving pieces of the "broken" windows on my desktop I have no xcompmgr installed and my pieces are not that persistant. Also awesome behaved way more lazily than before the upgrade. Switching between workspaces and back needs around 1sec to redraw the window. There was something regarding this delay on the list but I am not using no dmenu as well. > Weird delay when running a program > http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg06911.html Before filing a bug I would like to ask the educated community if this is an already known issue. I did not check with lua 5.2, maybe this makes some change. ii liblua5.1-0:i386 5.1.5-4 ii lua-lgi:i386 0.6.2-1 ii lua-filesystem:i386 1.5.0+16+g84f1af5-1 This is not recent hardware (ibm T23), but it worked smooth so far. 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: S3 Inc.
