You are right, this has been reported in january already. What kind of
hardware are you using?

For me windows are not properly updated. They are like glue and I need
to move the window to see all changed elements. This happens even when
switching between windows in irssi so it only help to switch back and
forth. Annoying workflow .. 
So far I could not track it down, if it caused by xorg, awesome or the
graphic driver. However it slowed down in to steps. First with
upgrading awesome to 3.5 and second during the upgrade from wheezy to
jessie in may/june.
