Currently a lot of work is being done to stabilize the JDK 7.
Taking into account the absent implementation of this feature for MS
Windows, and QA resources allocated to thoroughly test the features and
fixes already checked in into JDK 7, we decided to postpone the fix for
6927978 till JDK 8.
I would like to personally thank Costantino Cerbo for his huge effort in
implementing the functionality for X11 (for both GTK and GTK-less
cases). The code remains at the same location (the link is below), and
will be extended to include the MS Windows implementation once it is ready.
If anyone on that mailing list wishes to help with Windows port, that
would be very welcome!
