While implementation consultants routinely need to be trouble-
shooting occasional package bugs and errors as they arise:

(a) the primary focus of consulting should surely be in value-add
activity for a client, not making Axapta work. This should be the
true intellectual property of the partner.

(b) bugs and faults should be reported to MBS - highlighting the
impact of leaving problem unattended so that it gets appropriate
priority.

You are right Jim to suggest that faults get posted to
Partnersource - this is a very user-friendly system, where issues
can be rapidly recorded.

While other packages you quote Jim may have higher bug levels, with
Axapta we have a modern package that is generally easier to
maintain. This can more and more be a differentiator for Axapta if
MBS have the feedback to work with.

With a package heading towards it 4th Version release for thousands
of sites - it is important that bugs/faults with an impact get
logged on Partnersource.

It is a concern when a new person using Axapta strikes a data
integrity/referential issue (as this one is reported to be), and is
advised that this is an "old" problem. I wonder how many times it
has been solved per site - and if you added it up, how much total
time across Axapta user/partner/support base could have been put to
more commercial and positive use.

single ERP package in this WORLD without bugs and errors. Axapta is
comparitively a bug less product, yep there are bugs. There are
thousands of bugs in BAAN, Oracle, SAP ,MFG PRO etc .. I have even
faced some of those bugs while workin. But there is a solution for
every BUG or EORROR and we people are paid to troubleshoot them. If
the product comes out with out a single bug half of the people
working on ERP will have to start some provisional store!.

and the statements like the one you keyed in will hurt people like
me. hope there are guys and gals with the same feelin as mine. :-).
I have done more than 10 axapta implementations which runs very
successfully! Please understnd my feelings when you key in like
that!.

support these kinda systems please post it on the partner guide/
source ..directly to microsoft okey.Or if you are not with a partner
post it to your vendor. May be that could help them make the product
better and make people like me smile ! :-) But if you ONLY need
real practical solutions and wanna make your implementation a
SUCCESS post it here !!!
