Hi Fisherss,
I'm very busy at work too for the moment, but I still want this
project to develop. Especially since we've come so far already. I
won't have time to manage the mailinglist though, I won't be able to
check on it very regularly...
I only have an x50v and x51v, no x50 (actually we have a whole bunch
of the x50v and x51vs), so I can't help with that machine I'm afraid.
I also don't have a serial cable, as I have no knowledge of soldering
and stuff...
But we're very close at not needing the serial cable anymore! If we
could only get the usb networking working (or some other sort of
networking besides serial), this project would get very active, I'm
sure of that.
Now the first step, and that won't be that hard normally, is getting
the touchscreen accurate enough to be able to use the console in opie.
Could you explain a bit how you got all the magic numbers in the
touchscreen driver code?
I got them with other ads7846 driver, I have refered its data sheet,
but no useful thing, that's for all ads7846 chips, but they are set as
different values, so we have to use board-specific parameters.
I tried (as you now probably) to double the x
and y coordinates that are generated in the code, and that kinda
works, but not accurate enough to be usable. Do you have any
documentation of some sort for that to get better?
I think that should be hardware parameters. The "magic numbers" you
mentioned. We need more suitable register values to make it more accurate.
I know it'll be
very hard to play with this without a serial cable, but we'll get
through :-)
Thanks for all the great work so far Fisherss! If some people help I'm
sure we can keep this running!
Greetz,
JeDi

We need attending of new developers to let this project go on. I am
afraid I don't have time to continually do this. I am going to an
embedded company for a job and now crazy in exams :(
By the way, is there any body want to manage this mailing list ?

Hey,
I haven't seen anything on the mailing list apart from questions
regarding installation and so on.
Hasn't anything new happened? Or has everyone lost interest and
abandoned it? :(
It was all so exciting a few months ago when there was all the buzz
about getting Opie booted up.
Please dont tell me it's dead after getting that far...! :(
