The thought is to start with the android kernel google has released (based on 2.6.23) and patch it with the required modules for the axim. It will also need to be patched to remove the qemu goldfish support and fix the arm support. but you're right, from the current HH kernel you would only require a part of the code. Although, I'm thinking it would be easier to get everything working with the current HH builds, and then worry about moving it to android. As for the bootloader, my thought is to continue using haret for the time being. My idea for this is not so much using the axim as a pda but to make it into an iPod touch like device.
