I like the idea of icons/logos acknowledging the common history; Things that might be used create sufficiently non-infringing are style, color, shape, wording.
I'm not quite sure what I mean by 'style'. Hmm, yes, that number 2 from http://axiom-wiki.newsynthesis.org/FriCASIcon was also my first thought, but in some sense it's a bit boring, because the i with the double dots has been invented (by Johannes Grabmeier ?) for Axiom and using it for FriCAS would no show big creativity on our side (even though the i would remind on the origin of FriCAS). I think I would be more in favour of a nice picture, not just a name-logo. Maybe we need 2 logos. Well, it's not terribly urgent, let's think about it for some more time.
