There is a Debian package branch with minimal patches needed to build against an external GCL in Debian/Ubuntu. I will protect this branch from bit rot so users can continue to enjoy AXIOM far into the future. Occasional tarballs will be released with the dpX extension as seems reasonable. These will accompany a git tag of the same name. I see no reason to alter the webpages to point to this at the moment.
