maybe you've been tricked by the unix variation whereby the axiscpp.conf file has to be in "$AXISCPP_DEPLOY/etc"

AXISCPP_DEPLOY="/usr/local/axiscpp_deploy"set LIBRARY_PATHS
actually did ask about
LD_LIBRARY_PATH
