This is too bad. I was hoping by running configure --enable-static=yes
that I could generate a set of static libraries suitable for building a
stand alone C client. I guess there is more to it than that. :-(

Yeah, one of Axis2/C user [1] submitted a patch for Axis2/C static
engine;however, we couldn't apply it to the svn trunk because we were
unable to get it up and running [2]. After that never heard from him
:(
