Is there a way in bugzilla to attach a file, add comments to the bug, and or change the resolution at the same time?
1. you can add comments when you change an attachment
2. dont change the resolution till a patch is committed, which is something you can leave to a committer. Better yet, let the reporter mark it as fixed after they have done it
How does the committer know to look at and possible apply the patch once it is submitted?
1. there is an open bug
2. you keep reminding the mail list till it gets acted on in one way or the other
Usually doc patches go through pretty fast; code is different, though well documented code with tests goes through faster -provided the change is felt to be a good one.
