I still get the uninformative exception. I don't think it is a malformed URL, as the first time I invoke the service everything works fine, but the second time I try it I get the uninformative exception and Tomcat dies completely. Unfortunately, Tomcat doesn't give any indication as to why it dies other then "The application has been disconnected" when I run it in debug mode. I'll check into what James had to say. Anyother suggestions would be appreciated.
