BasicHandler Crashes Axis Applet

Took the code from the getQuote example and put it into a Japplet. The intent
here was to learn how to get Axis an client to get data from an Axis Server for
display in a Swing GUI.
BasicHandler crashes the Applet when it automatically creates a LogFactory on
line 34 that I neither need nor want.
Applet tested in both IE and FireFox. I am told there are other applet releated
crashes.
