weird apache axis (?) run-time problem on AMD64

Hi,
I've got a weird problem when starting a GT4 Grid client on SLES9 AMD64
with Java 1.4.2. The error is as follows:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError:
org.apache.axis.description.TypeDesc.<init>(Ljava/lang/Class;Z)V
at
org.apache.axis.message.addressing.EndpointReferenceType.<clinit>(EndpointReferenceType.java:333)
at uk.ac.wmin.cpc.gemlca.client.ClientGLCList.getGLCList(ClientGLCList.java:85)
at uk.ac.wmin.cpc.gemlca.client.ClientGLCList.main(ClientGLCList.java:55)
There is no run-time error if i use an SLES9 32 bit machine with same JVM.
What does it mean ? Is the Java VM not virtual enough ? Is this a bug in
Axis ?
