Two months later.

I downloaded Axis 1.3 binary zip from a mirror.

I opened the <install_dir>/docs/index.html file.

I too see:
    "This is the documentation for Apache Axis 1.2 If the version of Axis you 
are using is older or newer than this version, then this is the wrong 
documentation to be using. Read the version that came with your copy of Axis."

This is the documentation that came with my version of Axis.

Now, is the index.html page wrong, or is the documentation really for the wrong 
version of Axis?
