Dims,
Geronimo is going to be releasing 1.1 at the end of March. It would be really
great if the Axis Dev team could support its Geronimo brethern (*Matt says cup
in hand*) by releasing an official 1.4 Axis version. Otherwise we're going to
have to fork the Axis code for the 3rd time to get a release out.
Is there something I can do (besides my incessant whining) to help get this
done?
Seeing as you have a new baby (at least its imminent) you should have all sorts
of time in the wee hours of the morning :)
Thanks sir.

Hi
The AXIS_1_4_FINAL tag/branch is integrated in JOnAS and pass all our
tests (including TCK).
Is the 1.4 code very different of the trunk code now ?
I'm in favor of releasing the 1.4 branch as is.
And if there is issues with Geronimo and/or others, we should release a
1.4.1 based on trunk...
What do you think ?
Regards
Guillaume

I don't know who or why the 1.4 branch was created, but standard
procedure is to always release the trunk.
I think Dims created it in hopes to get a 1.4 release out to be
included in Geronimo 1.0. But it was never released and is really
old now compared to trunk.
Hey Dims, can you weigh in on this? I'm not really comfortable yet
making unilateral decisions on big release and versioning topics.
Some hand holding would be good while I learn the ropes.

I can certainly carry out my duties to help on this one.
I guess I'd be looking at some direction from my fellow axis people
on what we want to do with the 1.4 "final" branch. Specifically, do
we want to release trunk or the 1.4 branch?

Geronimo is looking towards its 1.1 release sometime in the next
month or so. No hard date yet. It would be useful to have an
official 1.4 release. Any chance that will be happening soon?
