Anything you need to make life easier is ok :) if it means a minimum of 1.4.2+ that is ok for just using Kerberos.

I am then back to the original question: does wss4j have to work with pre-jdk1.4.2 when org.ietf.jgss was introduced - i.e can we assume the existence of a working kerberos in the jdk?
