I'm using the following code to create a compressed request:
org.apache.axis.client.Call _call = super._createCall();
_call.setProperty(HTTPConstants.MC_ACCEPT_GZIP, Boolean.TRUE);
_call.setProperty(HTTPConstants.MC_GZIP_REQUEST, Boolean.TRUE);
However, the request does not include GZIP support:
POST /...
Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8
Accept: application/soap+xml, application/dime, multipart/related, text/*
User-Agent: Axis/1.3
Host: xxx:81
Cache-Control: no-cache
Pragma: no-cache
SOAPAction: "rpc/http://siebel.com/asi/:SiebelContactQueryByExample";
