OK, so old clients use the old URL and the old .aar. New clients use the new URL and the new .aar. That sure sounds like two different services to me! :) Why can't you just deploy a new service and get exactly what you want? The only commonality you seem to be asking for here is the service name, and I don't see the value in that - especially in that right now Axis2 uses the service name to construct the URL, which is a very convenient convention. This certainly doesn't seem to qualify as a "blocker" in any case - it's really an enhancement request.
