getDocumentElement() in poxBuilder fails when there is no input in the body

When i call the getDocumentElement() method from a builder obtained using
Builder.getPOXBuilder(), I get an error when the body of the request has no
data (There is no input to the method). org.apache.axiom.om.OMException:
com.ctc.wstx.exc.WstxEOFException: Unexpected EOF in prolog at [row,col
{unknown-source}]: [1,0]
