+1, go for it.
In general, unless it's something really serious or surprising, just go
and commit stuff to the branch if you feel it needs to go into the
release. The idea is to share the load so we don't gate on the group,
or even the release manager, for commits. Use your discretion, and the
RM or someone else will holler if there's an issue.
