Yes it is. In fact - the Apache license is a direct decendant of it. There are two BSD licenses - one with the advertizing clause - and a more recent one without. The latter is virtual identical to the ASF license. Both sit well with the ASF license - but the receiver (i.e he or she who downloads the -whole- package) has to bear in mind that he or she will now have to adhere to both the ASF and the BSD license. And if the latter is of the older form which as the advertizing clause then the receiver will have to show the 'advert' in the appropriate places. Dw.
