Just a heads up. We have had reports that the Holliday Inn listed below is "icky".
Here is the quote: "I've heard it from a few people that I had put up there. They said the service was horrible, the food was horrible and the rooms were not that great." Also, there is apparently a corporate rate of $125 per night available, but the consensus here seems to be the Marriott is a better place to stay. I will say that I have eaten in their restaurant (for lunch) and the food was fine. Just wanted to give everyone all the info. -- Tom Jordahl Macromedia -----Original Message----- From: Tom Jordahl [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, April 29, 2002 5:03 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: Hotel/location info for face-to-face I know Glen asked our Admin to check in to hotel info and I just checked with her. Here are the two best options that are close to Macromedia. Out address is: 270 Grove Street Newton, MA 02466 Boston Marriott Newton http://www.marriotthotels.com/dpp/PropertyPage.asp?MarshaCode=BOSNT 2345 Commonwealth Avenue Newton, MA 02466 USA Phone: 1-617-969-1000 Fax: 1-617-527-6914 The Macromedia negotiated rate is a (steep) $169 per night. There is a shuttle bus to the Riverside Office Park, where MM is located. BOSTON-NEWTON (I-95), MA Holiday Inn 399 Grove St. NEWTON, MA 02462 UNITED STATES Local Phone: 1-617-9695300 http://www.basshotels.com/holiday-inn?_franchisee=BOSNT This hotel has 2 big advantages in my book 1. It is walking distance to Macromedia 2. It is walking distance to the Green line "T", the Boston subway. 3. It's cheaper at (from the web site) $129 per night. OK, I lied there are three good reasons to go there. But it probably isn't as nice as the Marriott, but hey its a Holiday Inn, so you aren't going to go too wrong. There is also a Weston, a Double Tree Guest Suites (very nice!), and a Sussex Chalet up Rt. 128/I95 a ways in Waltham, MA. If you have a rental car are very short drives away (5 miles or so). I know of no compelling reason to prefer these hotels over ones that are close or ones that are actually in Boston. You could stay downtown also, since Macromedia is on the Green Line T train line (at the very end). I would get a place that was very close to the Green line stops. Any hotel in "Copley Square" or Copley Place (c.f. http://www.marriott.com/epp/default.asp?MarshaCode=BOSCO) would probably fit that criteria. Make sure you call and make sure you can catch the "D" line from the hotel. See subway info at http://www.mbta.com/ . -- Tom Jordahl Macromedia -----Original Message----- From: Russell Butek [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, April 29, 2002 2:48 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Hotel/location info for face-to-face Glen, could you post a list of the hotels in your area?
