All we > have to do is to get the entire world to use Notes and then > everything is just fine. no, your problem is that you are subscribed to external mail lists with your primary email addresses. mine go through various hoops and virus scanners and spamassassin till procmail finally deposits them in their appropriate directories, where I read them with a commodity IMAP mailer, not a fancy toy like outlook or notes.
