I know XML and WSDL pretty well and normally make sure it's accurate before I post a question or bug. In this case, I didn't know enough about Axis to know where to look. Now that you've given me a clue, I'll verify that the arrays are correctly defined. However, to answer your question: use of arrays in SOAP messages -- in particular, the output message -- is pretty common-place. If these WSDL's are valid, I think you'll find that other toolkits are able to handle them.
