If you stop/start the application in Tomcat, this could be related to the known AXIS memory leak caused by the usage of thread locals (http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AXIS-935).

I found an Open AXIS Bug - AXIS-1391 severe memory leakage in server side service with tomcat that has not been resolved.
Has anyone made progress on this ?
