Hi
all,
I'm writing a client
application that involves a web service client connecting to an external web
service. The client was written under Axis 1.2.1 using the precompiled
binaries.
The troublesome
issue is that a web service call took over 7 secs inorder to get a reply when I
run it with JRE 1.5. I trapped the network traffic and found almost all
the delay was for forming the message and getting the message onto the network,
not network latency. I then switched to running the exact same
code/library/everything with JRE 1.4 and the execution went down to 600
ms.
I did some quick
reading and will try upgrading Xeceres and running it using the JDK JVM, and
possibly compiling the axis libraries for myself in Java 1.5. Does anyone
else have any other suggestions? Is there any documentation stating the
optimal dependencies for Axis? Any ideas on the root
cause?
Thanks in
advance,
Alan
