There is no standard convention.

The SOAP 1.1 spec [1] examples use "SOAP-ENV".
The WSDL 1.1 spec [2] examples use "soapenv".
The WS-I Basic Profile [3] uses "soap".
The WS-Security 2004 standard  [4] uses ""S11".

yes i know.  however I have a customer that insists it should be "soap", so I am gathering up some rebuttals.  i thought if maybe most folks used something, then maybe....

they are all sematically equivilent, the actual prefix used carries no weight.

Subject: SOAP namespacing conventions

Is there is a "standard" or "widely accepted" convention for naming the soap namespace.
I have seen:

<soap:Envelope xmlns:soap=" http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/ ">
<SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/ ">

Thanks,
