1.4 uses SAX, but ends up holding a lot of stuff in memory. this was one of the main reasons we rearchitected everything and came up with Axis2...

Hello, I'm using Axis 1.4. When I retrieve a 12MB XML file, the Virtual machine uses more than 500MB (and less than 700). This sounds a little extreme. Are there known issues with 1.4? If I set the -Xmxn flag to much less than 600 an exception is thrown with no message. When I use -Xmx600m it runs fine though. Also, Axis seems to use a JAX parser for its SOAP calls, I think, but I read on Apache's site that it uses SAX.
