Newbie here, but I'm not sure what you're specifically referring to by "proxy class." Perhaps best to show us your Ant task so we can see if something is wrong with it.
I would also experiment with the different databindingName options[1]--ADB, JiBX, XMLBeans, etc. Each will render your WSDL into Java differently--so it may be the case that you're using the wrong databinding option given the output classes that you are expecting.
