[AXIS2] proxy problems

Can anyone tell me how to get past a proxy when connecting to an  
HTTPS web service please? The error is:

Unable to tunnel through proxy. Proxy returns "HTTP/1.0 403 Forbidden"
there's HTTPConstants.PROXY but nothing to set the port
