The ExceptionInInitialiser error also occurs in the following situations when using the xml-beans data binding:

1. You don't have all (or some) of the .xsb files in your classpath.
2. You have different versions of the .xsb files than those referenced in the .class files for the xml-beans.

If you're using xml-beans, let me know and I can give more info on how to work out if this is the problem.
